Dare to Flare

Don't ask questions, just run as fast as you can to the store and buy yourself the longest, widest pair of flare jeans you can find. Skinny jeans will always have a place (tucking into boots, ankle length with heels, etc) but we haven't seen anything new in way too long. Until now! Flare jeans are the must have item for fall. Interior Inspiration | White Walls

I used to think white walls were reserved for Scandinavian design or homeowners who didn't want to put in the time and effort to paint. No more! White walls are all over design blogs and Pinterest, proving that they are the perfect bright and airy backdrop for any design aesthetic.

::: Console/Desk 10 Minute Ikea Hack :::

Don't you just love a good 'ol Ikea Hack??? This one is soooo quick and easy, it's a no-brainer. I had been searching high and low for the perfect minimalist console table to use as an entryway table/desk. I love the look of the marble ones out there but the prices are a bit high for my liking.

Blu Dot Minimalista Console Table
This one from WAYFAIR is $699.

That's where the IKEA VITTSJO Laptop Desk (only $39!!) comes in handy.

VITTSJĂ– Laptop table IKEA Made of tempered glass and steel, durable materials that give an open, airy feel.
I considered painting it white or gold like others have done, but ultimately, I decided to leave it black. Pair that with my new favorite thing ever: MARBLE CONTACT PAPER and you have yourself a fancy table. Most other bloggers have used THIS one for $60, but I only need a small amount so I took my chances with THIS one from Amazon for $10.99. It didn't disappoint.

Once you have your Ikea desk built, follow the instructions on the back of the contact paper and apply it wherever your heart desires!

Decide whether you want to add the marble contact paper to the shelf as well. I chose to cover it.

+++ Bathroom Before & After +++

FINALLY, an exciting before and after post is here!
bathroom before and after

One of the first projects that we tackled in our new house was the hall/guest bathroom. It really wasn't THAT bad, but the tile color was gross and outdated and the vanity was falling apart. It was just your standard cheap builder grade bathroom.

I wanted to stick with the "cheap" part but make it feel more modern and custom. We had the floors replaced with larger 12"x24" matte gray tiles that we found on Wayfair. It looks like the price is a bit higher now than when we bought it, but they are always sending out coupons. We replaced the broken vanity with the most affordable decent looking vanity we could find that fit the space. This one is 36" and is from Home Depot, although Lowes has one nearly identical. I took the original mirror down and had it cut to a circle for only $35 by a local glass and mirror shop! The vanity light is an outdoor wall light from Home Depot. It doesn't light up the entire room but we have a mounted ceiling light as well, so this option worked for us. The shower curtain was a little pricier than I would have liked because we had to find one that was 84" long rather than the standard 72".
